In August 2011 a task force commissioned by the current government
produced their report “A world-class mathematics education for all
young people”. In line with much other research the report recognises
the importance of teachers undertaking “regular and appropriate
professional development” .
In 2009, the National Centre for
Excellence in the Teaching of Mathematics' report “Researching
Effective CPD in Mathematics Education (RECME)” acknowledged that there
is a need to investigate access to CPD.
Through my research, which
forms parts of my MA in Mathematics Education, I hope to be able to
improve the knowledge base in this area.
For the
results of my research to be meaningful I need as wide a range of secondary
mathematics teachers in England to complete this questionnaire as possible. Please can
you help me by completing the questionnaire yourself and then passing a link to this blog (or the link
below) on to as many mathematics teachers as you can.
The questionnaire should take between 5-10 mins to complete and I will keep you updated here with its progress and the outcomes of my research.
Many many thanks,
Elaine
